  • 4 WD lever

What position shlould this be for routine town 2WD driving??
My son has had his auto box Surf for a couple of weeks now and now wonders exactly how to use this lever. It was in H position when we bought it.
Obvious answer I suppose is N but when he put it there yesterday and then selected Drive the truck rolled backwards as it seemd to be a permanent neutral position???
Maybe he had been in 4WD all the time?? Do L and H refer to two 4WD options??

    Any help will be appreciated.

H is High Gear, which is used for normal driving. L is Low Gear, which is used more for off-road work or slow driving on slippery surfaces.

4WD is normally only selected by pressing the 4WD button on the side of the lever. When in 4WD a light should come up on the dash to show you that you are in 4WD.

Normal driving, on the road, is H with the 4WD DESELECTED.

    Hope this helps

Or to put it another way, the short lever pulled back towards the drivers seat, and the button on the side, out.
