2.4 Diesel Filter removal

Can anyone tell me how to remove the Fuel filter on my 2.4 diesel.(short of using a tin opener)And what is the correct way to refit and bleed a new one?

Mine always jams on and I end up takeing the mounting plate off G clamping it to the worktop and then using the filter wrench.
If you take the two fuel pipes off (remember which was which), then undo the two 12mm nuts on the top, the whole filter and mounting plate comes off easily.

Thanks for the Info on filter removal Bushwacker & Maverick. Finally ironing out the little problems. Not using or losing water now, no white smoke and defo no water in the diesel.!!
By the way Bushwacker are you any good at ironing?
