getting at the aircon cooling fans

Hey guys,

I have washed all the $$$$ out of the underslung condenser, but the fans don't turn.

HOW is the best way of getting at them to replace / repair / unblock - do I have to remove the condenser (thus loosing all me nice new gas?) or can I do it without loosing gas?

I thought I'd washed mine out until I removed the radiator (permanently). The cowl around the fan blades acts as a retainer for the mud and I don't think you can ever wash it out in situ.
