has anybody had any probs with there auto kick down as I seem to have lost mine acording to the book there is a cable from the accelarator to the gearbox and a solinoid?

It may just be me being slow at this time, but what do you mean
by auto kickdown?

Press accelerator down rather quickly and the gearbox will automaticly select a another gear I.E jump from 3rd to 2nd.

all it is when you come to a steep hill or accelarate hard it picks the revs up changes gear and goes
