Surf 2.7l petrol???!!!???

Hi there,
I am new to the forum and need a bit of advice from you experienced surf owners.
I have seen a Surf on a N plate for sale, which has a 2.7l petrol engine. It is in excellent condition, mint inside and out, and has been lifted 2inch.
I have done a lot of searching on the internet and i am struggling to find info on this modeland engine, is there a reason for this??? I am confused and fustrated!!
Anyone out there who could help! Thanks in advance.
