  • Oil pressure

    Hello all

Would be greatful if a few 2.4TD drivers could tell me where there oil pressure gauge sits at idle and the highest it goes when the engine is revved up. Help appreciated cause mine seems alot lower than it used to be and I havent driven it for about a month.

    Cheers

At idle mine sits about 1/4ish, at moderate speed about halfway ish and at motorway speeds just under 3/4, from memory any where between the two white lines is good.

For interests sake, my oil pressure is lower with new oil than with old oil. I know when mine needs an oil change if the pressure is a lot higher than normal. That is because the oil gets thick when older and provides more resistance.

Having just done an oil change my guage reads like this.

          At idle - 1/4
          At Speed - 2/3
Normal speed - somewhere between the two depending on how warm the engine is and if I have just been at speed, in which case the pressure will be lower.

          Cheers
