Odd noise when engine is cold

Hi everyone,i have a 1992 2.4 auto diesel and it has just been in the garage to have the cylinder head replaced,since we have had it back when the engine is cold i have a high pitched squeal and intermittent power response on the accelerator, the other morning it totally diedthen 10 mins later started perfectly.after about 2 mins driving everything is fine.any ideas?? oil pressure seems a bit lower than normal.could it be alternator belt?? The only thing i can describe it like is that the clutch is slipping in a manual car thanks for any thoughts

don't mess, take it back and keep going back until you're happy with it. if you pay anyone to do a job you're entitled to it being done completely correctly and to your satisfaction. especially with something like this which i assume cost a small kings ransom. i wouldn't leave it too long either or else the 'warranty' and 'guarantee' bollox comes into play.
