What is the idle and hard/normal button for

can anyone tell me when do you need to use the idle button and normal/hard buton. thanks

The idle up switch is for increasing the engine revs for using winches or just to warm the engine up quicker on very cold mornings. It only works when in park or neutral.
The normal / hard switch is for stiffening the suspension for when towing or better stability at speed. (this only works if you have the original Toyota dampers fitted)
