  • Cambelt Change

Getting a cambelt change this afternoon and a full service. Should I get the tensioners done? Also what counts on a full service on a surf. Wanna check they dont cut corners....

If the tensioner bearings are loose or noisy then replace, or replace regardless for peice of mind.

I don't often change them, they are rarely worn on a first cambelt change, by the time you getting to 200K Km's and the second belt then is more likely to need doing.

In my opinion (and is what we do..) a proper FULL service is check/lubricate and adjust EVERYTHING that can be done.

I only book 1 full service a day. Not enough time to anymore and not be rushed.

I think that defines the difference between someone offering a SERVICE and someone trying to maximise profit
