turbo unit on 1st gen same as efi?

are the turbos on the 1st gen 2.4 (2LT) engines the same as the efi ones? seals gone on mine and i can get a unit off a mate tommorrow but its off an efi one and i don't want to waste his time have him remove it and then not need it.

If it has CT20 marked on it it then yes!

Yes all the 2.4 Turbo's are CT20 and the bracketry is the same.

Mmmm not so sure about that. if heard that there are 2 types of CT20. the Normal CT20 and the CT20b. the CT20b in the modern 2.4L 2lte engined 1995 models use the ct20b with ceramic impellers. Thats what i have in mine and would really like to change it with a hybrid Ballbearing turbo but im afrai of turbo lag i dont know which turbo to choose best.mine is auto tranny.

I think however that they are interchangeable - externally the same with the same boost characteristics - just stronger impellers.
