On the expansion/filler bottle for my 92 SSR-X surf there is a pipe coming from the cap and appears to go down to the fans ontop of the air con radiator. I am having overheating problems after driving for around about an hour or so and when i look under the bonnet the cap on the bottle is off. I am unable to blow down the pipe that leads to the air con rad. Is this normal? I hoping my head hasnt gone Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers.

I vote for the connected wrong option as well. The pipe from the expansion bottle lid should just hang down the side of the bottle and allow fluid to drip to the floor. The pipe to the air con rad is probably the fan motor breather and that I think should end somewhere high in the engine bay. It certainly shouldn't be connected to the expansion bottle.Roger

Expansion tank hoses should be from under rad cap to expansion bottle cap and then another short breather hose from other side of cap. Breather hose should not be connected to anything.
The hose from fans is also a breather and should be left open and secured somewhere high in the engine bay pointing down to prevent water entry.
Connecting the expansion bottle breather to the fan breather can result in coolant entering the fan motors causing damage if coolant flows through this hose.
