  • 2.8 coolant loss, and dicky starter

did some investigating on coolant drips under the truck today, after removing the engine cover noticed the water was running down the front of the engine from behind the fan pulley, assume this is the water pump......

how easy is it to change, done a search, couldnt find any instructions.

other problem i have is with the starter motor, seems to turn but not engage, after trying 4-5 times will engage and start ok...is it time for a new starter motor?

To get the pump out its the same as doing the cam belt, you need to get the cam cover off to get to the pump bolts.

The starter gear is engaged by the soloniod, check the wiring for lose connections, otherwise you'll have to have the starter out to see if something is jamming the gear/plunger, or the solonoid coil has died.

If not that then your flywheel has shed some teeth, but not very likely.
