  • Engine Surge

My 2.4 has recently started to rev highly whilst under acceleration but this is not transferring to the wheels! I initially thought this meant and new clutch was required. Application of new clutch and the problem persists. Any ideas before I go back to the garage and spend more?

Apologies for the lack of technical description but I am new to this!

Just checking, but i pressume you have a manual Surf???!!! Only because it sounds like low ATF- but that only applies to auto (which doesn't have a clutch to replace)
Anyway if it is manual, could be sticky slave cylinder.

Was the clutch pedal free travel adjusted? If not then clutch may not be fully engaging. You should feel a little bit of free travel in clutch pedal before you feel resistance from the hydraulics as you push the pedal in.

it could be your crank seal is leaking oil when it warms up,,maybe the clutch is slipping,,
