I read somewhere that the ECU will prevent overboosting, @ around 12.5 but I maybe remembering wrong I'll go and check........

          Website with a pressure calculator.

I did a website for a company last year tha has a Pressure, Volume and Flow Rate conversion calculator on it. The web address is http://www.delavan.co.uk and you can access the calculator by going to the products page. It's called the Delavan Convertor and is situated on the left side of the page.

          I make 5.5 PSI = 0.3792 BAR, 7.8 PSI = 0.5378 BAR and 12.5 PSI = 0.8168 BAR.

IMHO it is unlikely that any boost pressure less than 1 BAR would cause any damage to a Surf engine. (But I'm not prepared to guarantee that).

          Grant.

Just as a follow up question on this, but how much extra smoke (or not) do you get when you add the extra washer?

This looks like an easy mod to do for an extra bit of uphill ummmppphhhhh

Can't say that I've noticed any more smoke.
