2.4 Exhaust silencer!!/ Headlamps.

I`m just about to purchase the rear part of the exhaust system on my 92 2.4TD. I`m a little confused that the original one fitted as a small silencer just before the tail pipe, and the replacement ones i have seen don`t!!
I want to replace from the flexi pipe complete to the back, will it make a difference with this small silencer missing?

Also i wish to improve the brightness of my headlamps, can anyone suggest suitable modifications.

Exhaust does'nt matter so just fit it.

It's only the actual original factory fit exhausts that have that little silencer box on the back.

AFAIK, all aftermarket, including genuine Toyota ones, don't have it.

So there.

You'll possibly need to upgrade the wiring loom...use the search engine facility as someone made some for sale....or look at 4crawler website over in the usa.

i just did this on my citroen bx had rubbish lights now v bright(100/80 bulbs help also)

Hello mate

No need to worry mate, it makes no difference at all. I've just done the same job and, yes I had the same worries you did. I got mine from milners with a small fixing kit, though the gasket couldn't be used because there was no recess so had to use sealant paste. Its actually a straight forward job to do.

Did my BACKBOX yesterday fits a treat. Looks like a 3.0 now as the tailpipe diameter is bigger
