engine hissing sound

(not a snake under bonnet) But just bought a 1991 2.4 hilux perfect condition with 77000 Kms, when pulling away accelerating there is what sounds like a vacum hose off untill I de-throttle, do they all sound like this or could it be the Turbo ? also it is pretty **** on fuel just got 400kms to a Tank full not good any ideas?? cant see any pipes off and it idles good.

Check this hose for splits also check if an air filter is present as it sounds like induction type hiss.

they only do 400kms to a tank if your lucky
