I think you will find that that's the engine's Computer. What year is yours? Look under the hood at the silver air outlet from the turbo to intake manifold(?). Mine says something like EFI .... That is a clear indication that, that little black box is the Computer

Please could anyone tell me what the little box is under the drivers seat is???
It seems to have some wires coming out of it.
If it looks like this pic its the alarm/imoboliser this is what is under my seat.
The central locking box (i think on a 2.4) is in the drivers side footwell RH side panel.
I would say alarm module.
Central locking and engine manage boxes would be hidden away behind panels. Turbo timers are normally behind or close to the lower dash panel 'cos of the need to connect to the ignition wiring.
Looked at it closer and it's got no writing on it but does seem to have a male connector for what looks a ariel plugged into it, plus some other wires. Could it be some thing to do with the old stero that used to be in there.

Do you have a flat metal plate on a swivel on the dash?
If so, it could be the misiing lonk to the Toyota NaviBoy.
I had the unit on the dash and the cable headed to the seat but had been cut off.
Just a thought
