yes but i bet you a grand it aint got controls for leccy mirrors. just been on fone to toyota they say thats how this model was made so at least im sure on that 1 thanks 4 your help though chaps.

ok bushwacker point taken chap but that could be made to take any switch but at least i know now its the basic spec and thats how it was made toyota said they made a few thosand of these specs and also not to worry about blowing head on it as these specs were made with the modified head so what ive lost on some non essential bits ive gained on something else once again chap thanks for your help and bit of banter.

Good chance of making myself look daft here, but surely the guy knows if hes got leccy windows or not. If he hasnt got them he,ll have window winder thingys. either that or hes got windows which dont open. Also all this door swapping stuff is a smokescreen, The windows are either electric, or they are not. If they are you have switches, if not youll have winder handles, if neither youve got one weird vehicle.
So if it doesnt have electric windows ( which I strongly suspect is the case) then theres a good chance its got no central locking either.

I also have a 1991 standard SSR, although mine must be a little later as it is an H model. it doesnt have electric windows or central locking.

I know this not only because it has handle winders and no switches, but because I replaced the door recently and it definitely had no electric window or central locking

I'm not too worried though, as someone else said, just another thing to go wrong

it does have an electric rear window though... odd eh?

makes sense now, was bugging me but just found it. Base model SSR came without electric windows and central locking. After they dropped the SSR it was replaced with the SSR Ltd, then all Surfs came with electric windows, central locking, electric mirrors, electric aerial, air con as standard.

Not really, if it was manual you'd have to crawl into the back and wind it down everytime you wanted to open the tailgate!
