  • Water Temp Sensor 1,2 or 3?

Hi All, I’m at a loss (feel like a blind man leading the blind, no offence)!!

My 2.4 (1991 model) engine check light comes on. So, I pulled the diagnostic codes (no. 4) – water temp. sensor. This does make sense since when the engine is cold no problem, but when it heats to normal temp then the light comes on. So I decided to L@@K for this sensor, but don’t even know where it would be located. Standing in front of the engine: left / right / firewall side, etc? I did see on the thermostat housing are two sensors. Could it be one of them or is it located somewhere else?

If someone could just point it out for me.
    Thanks

AT LONG LAST - "I CAN SEE"!! Nev, excellent pic, I cannot miss it now.

Now the BIG question: what would be the Toyota part number for this sensor?

      Thanks

I can't take credit for the pic. Pinched it from someone on this site. Can't remember who it was. I've heard removing the starter will allow access to this sensor from under the vehicle.I'd check the wiring to the sensor before buying a new one. Maybe just a loose connector or dirty terminals. Use your Model and Chassis numbers for Totota part.
