stereo fitment help please

Hi all.
I'm not too hot with stereos, so need some help.

My new surf, just imported, has no stereo. SO basically got a double din size space in the dash.

However, there doesnt appear to be a 'frame' to hold one either.

Also, i tried to fit an old one in the space and the hole was too small for it to fit through

so, what are my options to fit in the space, and what do i need??

There's a kit (I think by Autoleads) that allows you to fit a standard single din unit - only cost about £15 & is usually advertised on ebay, but prob available from some of the import accessory places

id doesn't fit like that... there should be a plate either side that the stereo screws to... do a search in the electrical section...
