spare ignition/door key

have got 2.4 td ssr limited. 1991 (h). am having problem sourcing where to get a new spare ignition/door key. have tried several lockesmiths, toyota main dealers say they cant help and suggest i change all barrels. have been reading this forum for sometime and am sure someone could help. i only have one key a present and would be buggered if lost. any (sensible) suggestion appreciated. i am located [B]Nr Canterbury. Kent. England. ps. me 'ead is spot on! got a good 'un.

As mentioned earlier, most Mr Minit shops keep the relevant key blanks. Just make sure when they cut them they match the keys at the shoulder not at the tip, otherwise it won't work. I've had two cut for mine with no problems at all other than as above.

Had 2 keys cut for mine at local Timpsons shoe repairers (what's the link between cobbling and key cutting) cost £4.50 each & work perfectly.

Blank number for mine is KL type, ref:TR 47P
