Help ! -- need Crank - i think !

I have a 92 ssr 2.4 and it needs a new crank ! the engine seized and the crank is knackered. So what do i do ? I have spent 600 Quid to find this out and i only bought the thing for 3000. My mechanic tells me that i need to spend another 1100 to do the job properly.

Does anyone know what i could get for it as it is IE. great but needing about a grands worth of work on the engine or a new one!

Or should i spend another 1100 and then effectivally have a 3000 car that cost me 4700 ?

Either way i think im Poor !!

see if you can get a re con or second hand engine?
