  • Fuel Consumption lucky to be 19 MPG!!!

Fuel Consumption lucky to be 19 MPG and thats mainly open road! 362km of 52 litres of diesel!
If anyone can figure this out...?

Injectors have been reconditioned, new air filter, tyres at 39 PSI, no fuel leak.
Marginal leak in turbo seal resulting in small oil burn. Getting 100kph at 2900rpm. Seems to be running fine. White smoke on start..(turbo oil leak?) but stops quickly. Running 15inch rims.

    i'm buggered if i know!

My LN 130 is lucky to return 20/21 mpg on around town but
                  that seems to be normal.

Could be worse you could have a 4.2lt petrol cruiser te he

I reset my odometer after each fill up to keep track of MPG - these are not small cars - they're trucks!

I got 46mpg when I rented a Smart car - but who wants to drive in one of those? It just didn't feel safe at all.

You have to careful if your odometer is in Km's (divide by 1.69 for miles)

                      to use:

                      http://www.mileagecalculator.co.uk/

is handy to work out your mpg (enter miles not km)

I do about 19-21 mpg in London and average 26 mpg on the motorway/mixed driving.

Last November I did 384km for 37 litres on the autobahn going to Austria, thats just under 28mpg with a fully loaded Surf!

And was the surf great in the snow? - not arf!!

4.2 is diesel, and they are the same if not better than my 2.4 sometimes.

The petrol ones are 4.7 i think and I reckon you will be lucky to get double figures!

Commute daily from Essex to West London, 1992 2.4 Auto LN130, 23 to 24 MPG, and that's with a cracked cylinder head, which I will replace soon.
