  • BOV and Boost questions....again!!

I have read via the SEARCH as much as possible about BOV’s and have come to the following conclusions.
It allows the boost pressure to escape when the throttle butterfly shuts…Yes??
By doing this it reduces “turbo lag” i.e boost drops and then slowly rebuilds….Yes??

Now I have no throttle butterfly, well actually I do but it is now locked open.
The reason I did this is that it does reduce my black cloud on take-off from the lights.
It appears to reduce turbo-lag….I lose 4psi ( 10 down to 6 ) between changes if I change up at 3000 RPM
It feels like it comes on boost a little quicker.

    1st BIG QUESTION
Would a BOV make much difference to me, keeping in mind I still have the standard exhaust but very soon to have a 2.5” free-flow pipe thrown in.

    2nd BIG QUESTION
What would the difference be in having the washer boost mod (currently fitted) to a proper boost controller.

As always I look forward to the replies and some good discussion.
