raising the rear window

Hi all,a newbie here I have a 1993 2.4 ssrx td which has been totally trouble free for 18months until yes you guessed it the rear window has packed in. I have used the threads and have a duff rear window/regulator.(Ive put a 12v on the motor from a battery and all it does is get hot)My problem is How can you change the motor etc when the window is practically all the way down.Any tips would be great as i dont fancy this with a hangover on sunday and her indoors is giving me grief

It's about servicing the motor really, but it gives you info on how to raise the glass when the rear door is open. You'll probably need someone to help you though.

Hi,i did all the rear window serviceing when it started to slow down near the top last year and it sorted it out great,until a couple of weeks ago when it just stoped dead about 2 inches up and does squat.i put a seperate 12 v feed onto it with the motor disconected and nothing ,reversed feed,nothing no noise ect but the motor does get hot ,i suspect the gear internally is seized,jammed but i cant see how to manually raise the window to remove the motor.i have tried pulling up on the bottom runners but all i did was strained my guts .If you push down hard on the glass there is a slight bit of backlash but not that much .Any tips to move that glass up to get to those bolts would be more than welcome before the LUMP HAMMER comes out
