  • ECU and turbo

Hi I am giving the fuse failure a rest unless anyone is near Bere Regis and can help me
I now have a different problem (will it ever end??)

I had my starter motor fixed, and before the fix, my turbo was settling in nicely with the tubo light working and kicking in fine..well blow me down they had to dissconect the battery and now 500 miles later it still doesn't come on Is it the ECU needs reseting? i have dissconected the battery again for over 1 hour and on reconnection it is still not functioning well, bit sluggish. I feel inadaquate I still can't locate my ECU do I have one?? my surf is a 1990 2.4 manual turbo
could someone show me via a picture or something as I can't find my ECU
oh were oh were can it BE??

            ECU and Turbo.

I have my 1986 Hi-Lux Surf, LN60, 2.4LT setup to bypass the ECU and run direct. No lights (green or amber) on dash panel to worry about. You should know by feel, if the turbo is working or not.
What are your feelings on this guys, have I done the right thing or not??

If it works for you fine. Its blatently obvious when the Turbo isn't working, the car is SO slowwwww.
If you've been down by the starter motor, you might have distrurbed the turbo sensor hose, it should go from the sensor to a filter cliped to the intake manifold, them from the bottom of this if loops under the intake to a fitting above the EGR pipe on the intake.
