It increases your idle speed for cold morning starts or if using an electric winch etc. The search facility is good for finding out little things like this I found as most things have been covered before

That may not be the idle up switch, although it's in that space. Cos it looks like an aftermarket switch not the origional.
When you switch it on does your revs rise, additional lights switch on, or your passenger gets shot out of the roof?

It looks illuminated, so I reckon it's a fog light switch.

it seems to be a phantom button , it does seem 2 do anythin . it dont change revs , it not lights .

Pull it out and see if there's any wires attached to it. I had a mystery button in my 1st gen. It was only when I took part of the dash out for something else that I realised it wasn't attached to anything...doh.

As its illuminated it should be for the FOGLIGHT if not its for the CLOAKING DEVICE

As Mark has highlighted, looks like the aftermarket switch for the rear foglight...I have the same in the dash.
