Turbo testing

My turbo light does not come on on my 2.4. It is alight when ignition is on but not when driving. Surf still seems to run fine any ideas? there is no apparant lack of power? How do you test if Turbo is working?

Hi steve My surf is the same no turbo light but runs well, only see it when ignition is on when starting, its been like that for about 6 months now, some days it lights up and there is a slight differnce in surge, I can't tell you how you know if its working, but from replys on this site I guess you would sure know if it wasn't working, there would be a total lack of power. does yours make a wining noise? if so its working..

I believe that the turbo light is driven off a pressure switch in the inlet manifold. When the turbo spins up the pressure increases and the switch...swicthes! If the pressure switch is duff it may well still drive the light on ignition switch test but not actually do anything else.

small vac pipe going from valve on inlet manifold to electirc valve on near side inner wing usaly falls of reconnect you,ll get a power shock
