Water pump

quick question
mechanic is changing water pump and thinks he is after losing a washer from between the fan coupling and water pump pulley. Can’t find the washer on any parts diagram. Is there ment to be a washer there or not

as far as i can see there is no washer between the coupling and the fan etc

the pulley slides on the waterpump and the fan assembly and 4 nuts tightens it up
