  • noisy clutch pedal

1990 2.4 td surf 120km, developes a creaking noise when warmed up when you press the clutch pedal up and down. I have greased pedal and push rod. Have also greased push rod on slave servo next to gearbox. Had a second oppinion but still not sure wheather to replace slave cylinder or look in engine compartment on other side of clutch pedal.
Its getting noisier and wondered if anyone has had similar problem.
    Any comments appreciated.

    Regards, Neil

The sprung clip on the clutch fork just inside the bellhousing from the slave cylinder. It holds the fork onto the gearbox input shaft, and the wirey clip squeaks on the fork every time.

Solution, pull the gearbox or....... put up .... or get the fork boot off outside and surgically spray the area if you know what you are doing

Would that be with wd40, tube on the end of can?. Or would I be able to get some copperslip grease on those clips?

Id be afraid to actually advise you to spray stuff in there coz it might get onto the wrong clutch parts.

Hold on I'm just gonna beam meself into the bellhouse and I'll take a piccy

See the clip at the end of the fork, it holds the bearing the fork, and clips onto the fork underneath it, thats where I found the squeak and I oiled it only lightly with 3in1 when I had the box off.
