    sensor

It is the crank angle sensor ( an absolute must for the EFI to work ).

The HIACE engine is similiar to your new one. No crank sensor.

The HIACE engine appears to be the same. Obviously they assume the same.
Call them & advise them of there mistake

Don't worry will be calling them, only problem now is who foots the bill for building it then taking the engine apart plus new gaskets stretch bolts etc.

Well and truly peed off. its a knightmare will it ever get back on the road again.

Should have bought a disco least I can weld them up when the rusty bits fall off.

                  Marky

                  RFM, read the ....ing manual.

Have to be honest I was well and truly peed off last night.
Spoke to partsland whom i bought the short motor off who said ok no problem took my details the garage details and said they would get Ivor searle technicians to contact the garage to resovle.

bearing in mind the garage is 2 units down from me, they had spoken to the mechanic before i had got there.

Basically I think I got a MFI block as opposed to an EFI.
Ivor searle accepted full responsiblity for suppling the wrong motor and said as it was a grey import they should have asked more questions.

However as for all work carried out so far ie building the motor they weren't liable as their fitting manual quite clearly states " check for compatability before instalation"
The said manual was on the roof in the bag unopened.

Luckily for me I have known the guys that own the garage for 15yrs so very carefully explained it was thier fault for not reading the manual.
So not being charged for wasted time.

Partsland (Chris) understood my predicament and that we all live in the real world ie don't read the manuals until it won't work. Because of this he is suppling all gaskets stretch bolts etc.

New engine 5-7 days and hopefully will be surfing once again.
Just think of all that deisel I have saved, my bikes looking a bit worse for wear though Jap bikes and salt don't go.

It can only get better I hope.

                  Thanks for the concern.
