Is it normal for a slight diesel knock when cold on 2.4 engine i nomaly hear it when i am going up hill and as i say only when the engine is cold once it has warmed up its a very sweet engine any advice please

The diesel pump automatically slightly advances the timing when cold so diesel knock is normal when cold.
