Be Nice You Can Wave

When i drive around eastboune/seaford/lewes i see loads of surfs but for some reason when you wave/honk or flash your lights most of the drivers look at you like you are a nut !!! i even tried talking to a owner at eastbourne asda thay just grunted !!!

Now i know this area has loads of rude,greedy and boring old farts!! who only lookout for themselves! and are to busy looking at COFFIN'S! but When i am out in my 60's classic car's at least other owners are intrested in talking and waving!

We are a much friendlier mob up here. On 2 occasions I've had people come and talk to me about the Surf in car parks, both were ex owners who missed the Surf. And we all wave to eachother round here, that said, we all know eachother too!

PS where do you get your daimler serviced / repaired (if you dont do it all yourself that is)

sorry but i do all the servicing on my daimler my self i have just rebuilt the engine and manual box but i have to remove the gbox as i am having prob's with the overdrive i think the solanoid is bust keeps cuting in/out

Only had my surf 2 weeks and have only seen one other around here, I watched them drive past and obviously was'nt interested in mine, however, Know what you mean about classics acknowledging each other, whenever I'm out in my stag I always get a wave from others. Skinflint, I see you've got a stag, mines a 3.0 Mk2 mimosa yellow, are you in the SOC/forum also?

my stag is a very early mk2 so i just get's free road tax she is in bit's at the moment just finished a major body job lead loaded the wings ect.
I have also removed the 3.5 rover lump (it will be rebuilt & go back in my rover p5b) and will refit the stag v8 (came as pile of bit's) that i rebuilt it at great cost!!! but should solve the overheating !! summer 2010 it should be back on the road.
I am a member of the soc and toc but only use the forum's if i need some info so not often !

Thanks for the complement my truck ok but i still have to sort out a lot of bodges buy the last owner
I plan to remove the bullbar and refitting an a-bar instead but i am still on the lookout for one in good condition !!

Have you heard of simon tingley he is out heathfield way and i have heard he dismantles and fixes surfs ! so i might try and find him next week and see if it is true !!
