Hi all,
Recently just had my starter motor call it quites on me. I'm currently driving a 1997 kzn185 3L TD SSR-X duel battery edition. In all my wisdom I decided to buy the new starter before actually looking at the old one. I bought a denso 2.2kw 10 tooth starter that the supplier said would fit, only to finally remove my old one and see that it's a 2.7kw 11 tooth.
While the mounting holes and flange diameter all look the same the main issue is the difference in teeth and the 2.7kw pinion is 11mm longer than the 2.2kw pinion.
Am I able to still use the new 2.2kw motor or will it chew up my fly wheel?

Any advice is welcome
