Hi All, first time posting and not an experienced mechanic at all!
I have a Hi lux surf 96 kzn185, that I’ve looked after and is doing incredibly well for its mileage/age.
Have had alernator recently changed due to power/battery issues, vehicle slowly shutting down occasionally if a lot of electrics being used-lights/radio/windscreen wipers/ phone charger. Was an odd problem but we think it got fixed.
later rev counter stopped working and was also suffering dead battery occasionally so mechanic swapped out alernator while under warranty and when reconnected battery and started up is now running very fast idle.
have been looking at error codes by shorting terminals on Obd and constant fast flashing, which I believe means no code.
does anyone know what else could cause this.
have also changed crank sensor.
