  • Stuck in river, now fuel filter needs draining

Crossing a river the other day in my 1997 surf, got pretty bogged up to my back window but the engine kept dry, now my fuel filter drain light is on, looking to try to drain it and just get it replaced at the mechanic. Is it all good to drive even if this light this on? Don't wanna cause any further damage to the engine.
    thanks

Drain it now. Water will cause engine, fuel pump and injector damage. There's a small plastic drain tap on the bottom of filter. I suggest replacing the filter now as well. Make sure no water got in the fuel tank.

I would drain the fuel tank too as if there is water in filter it most likely it came from the tank
