Rear wiper

Dear all i am rik a new member.i have had problems with rear window not working on a 3l gen 2 surf diesel 1994 it turned out to be rear wiper motor siezed up. Iwould like to remove the rear wiper and fit a spoiler.does anyone know if i need to run a permanent earth to by pass wiper wiring.any ideas guys many thanks rik

There is some connection between the rear wiper position and the tailgate window function. Watch the below youtube video.

If you are in the US, you will be pleased to know that the LHD 4runner uses the same wiper motor and assembly. There are several listed on eBay right now if you want to just replace the motor.
