hi all. I'm a new member to the forum. Only owned my surf since June (gen2 KZN130) but its been good so far, although it has blown the radiator cap already! turns out the thermostat had seized up and luckily no damage done. I've had a few bits done to it already; waxoyl underneath, new exhaust, taken the A-bar off, replaced the rotten chrome front bumper with matt black - oh and the thermostat of course!
Next on the list is the rear bumper and the bottom of the doors which are letting the body work down - I might just have hammerite/stone-chip along the bottom of the doors and sills and run with the matt black all around in keeping with the front bumper. I've seen quite a good guide somewhere on here on restoring and painting the rear bumper - but to be honest mine's pretty rotten and it seems like a lot of work for something that might bubble through again fairly quickly.
If anyone has for sale, or knows of anyone selling the grey matt plastic looking rear bumper for a gen 2 please let me know. I'm not sure if it's just the 2.4's or the LN130's that have this type but they all seem to have the tailgate mounted spare - mine has the spare tyre underneath so I'm not sure if that makes a difference or if it would just go on with a bit of fettling?
I've not long relocated to the North East, so if anyone can recommend somewhere fairly local to try salvage wise that would be useful too.
Cheers
