  • Kumho Tyres - anyone got comments/experience?

Anyone got any comments on or experience with Kumho tyres?

Specifically wondering how the mud terrains compare with the BF Goodrich? (both off-road ability and on-road wear).

    Kumho:

(Kumhos are quite a bit cheaper)

      Hi Codlord
Kumho are the same as Marshal,Hankook they don't seem a bad tyre but just remember the side wall are not as stiff as BF Goodridge Dunlop ect so take care when taking corners at speed as you might get a twitch on the back end. I fitted a lot of these tyres to lorries when I was a tyre fitter and they seamed to be ok for tread where and grip I dit not see any coming back faulty.

But you only get what you pay for I hope this helps.

        We love them!!

Tony has run 35" Kumho MT's on th pickup for nearly 3 years (as its daily road tyres as well as off road) and they have worn very well and are good offroad. Still have lots of tread left. We also have Kunho MT's (31") on the 4-Runner again excellent wear, low road noise for a MT and super offroad.

At about half the price of BFG they are definately worth it in my book. (our 31" were about £230 for 4 at Micheldever Tyres Nr Andover)

          Cheers Linda, you've sold me!

A local tyre place has just quoted me £272 for a set of 4 31x10.5x15 including vat and fitting etc. as opposed to £520 for a set of the BFG, and that's without any shopping around.

Gotta be worth trying out the Kumhos at that sort of price difference I reckon, especially with the Linda and Tony seal of approval

My spare set are the Marshal version of the kumho for off roading.

These were my main set for over 12 months and they are almost without fault, road grip - excelent, wet grip - excelent, 30k+ miles and still over 8mm tread - excelent, road noise - too loud for me.
Now run with Dueller HT on the road but cant praise the marshals enough!
