    What's the point of having the very latest, all singing all dancing version of Windows Media Player, when it won't even play media from the freakin' Windows Media Demo Site I's 'kin useless

    Hi Phil, when you installed the media player, did you tick all of the playback options ?

      junk it and use Winamp - less resources needed and I think a better program.
      endless options and millions of free upgrades.

        Have u downloaded media player 10?

        There are known faults with this, especially if the o/s is......ahem!!.... a not legit one..............I say no more

          Handy little site Fieldsy m8,I use Musicmatch Jukebox,it can be a bit "resource hungry",but it supports file conversion.

              Thanks chaps. I have made sure all the boxes are ticked. In case it was corrupt I have uninstalled and reinstalled. It was great until I upgraded from 9 to 10. Now it's very fussy about what it will play.

              It's favourite trick is to say it doesn't recognise the the file extension. When you look up the file extensions it says it supports, there it is on the list.
              It's only a hobby!
