Looking for new wheels and tyres for 1995 HiluxSurf 3.0 ssrx widebody.Current ones are Bridgestone Dueler A/T on 31x10.50R 15LT. Want wider wheels for a more aggressive stance.Don't want to lift suspension yet. Any ideas ?

I'll be after some new shoes soon once my saggy butt is sorted and was wondering the same:

I've not seen any 11.5" wide 31s, so can a stock height Surf accomodate 32s?

I've got 275/60R15 on the back and 255/60R15 on the front at the moment - what can I expect in terms of handling difference when I upgrade to bigger boots?

32x11.50R15 will require 8"-10" rims with 9" being the measured width.

This could be a problem then - I think the rims I have are pretty wide. Looks like 10" on the front and 10.5" on the back (not 100% on that though).

That BFG sheet reckons the 31x10.5 tyres (looks to be my only option heightwise) require a rim between 7 and 9 inches.

Anyone see any problem with putting them on anyway?

Standard Surf rimms are 7JJ (7") - so this is the minimum size for a 31x10.50R15.

Its not the extra width so much as the offset of the rim (distance from back of mounting face to the rear edge of the rim. To much offset will cause the tyre to hit the bulkhead or front bumper on steering lock as the tyre is to far out. To little will cause the tyre inner end to catch the frame and suspension stuff.

the wider/taller you go in tyre size, exagerates these contact points.

Should'nt be 10.5, thats not a normal option, 10" rims are pretty fat, I doubt they'd fit a standard surf.

If your buying rims, get 8" with the correct offset for IFS trucks.

Think I'll take a proper look at the wheels soon - I quite like them and don't really want the extra expense of new rims!

Your rims may have the size stamped / cast into them - if they are nice fancy ones (like mine) then this is most likely on the back (inside) of the wheel.

Within the limited amount of driving I've done since having the BFG's fitted I am realy pleased with then - included a deflation due to the valve poping
