  • Stupid question but Help!!!!

    Hi,

I know this probably sounds really thick but ......

I had a flat tyre yesterday, and can't work out how the heck to get the spare wheel out. It is hung under the boot and seems to be held up by a chain. Can anyone enlighten me as to how to tackle it (apart from bolt cutters).

    Cheers

you will find a long handle under the back seat and other bits in the tool kit in the back panel push the long bar through the hole ih the back bumper intill it engages with the chain mech and unwind, the wheel will drop down on the chain

Can be a bit of a fiddle I've found, you have to push the bar up at an angle as the 'cog' is above the spare, (obviously really!)

It's not a stupid question as the only way I found out was by asking on here!

A lot of us have/have had trouble with this - make sure you have the correct tool before you start tearing your hair out.

Thanks for the advice, I may get it back on the road yet. I'll go check my toolkit and see if I have all the parts, if I don't is there any makeshift tool to do the job?

          Cheers
