    well i looks like i have finaly been bitten by the curse of the 2.4, the rad split on me, i have had that and he water pump and cam belt done but the system just pressurizes from the word go and if i fire her up then switch off when i take the rad cap off i have cold water pumping out the rad cap so i think the head has finaly bitten the dust so it looks like i need a new one

    Comiserations m8, but I did see a 2.4 head on ebay a couple of days ago, see if its still on, it shouldnt be too dear.

      www.ukcylinderheads.co.uk is the best place to go but dont get a recon head you need a new one, This one comes complete & ready to bolt on. Its on an exchange basis.

        Check out Roughtrax they have new heads complete with cam shaft shimmed and fully adjusted for a similar price, could save a lot of work.

          have got a friend of my other halfs mum comming to look at doing it he is a very good mech and has managed to keep her mr2 on the road, says he will have the head x rayd for me to see if it is the head if not he will fit head gasket for 225 and says he can get a new head compleat for about 400 so hopefuly get the lot done for about 700 thanks for the suggestions though guys

            Update

            well the head prob just gets better and better (not) my m8 has had a look at the truck and has found that the head is wasted and i also have a head bolt missing that has been sheared off and part of it left in the head so how my truck ran for the past 6 months i am not sure but at least it is proof of how strong the surfs are will let you all know the final damage and see if i can get out and play in the mud once i have the truck back and running
