    yippee!!
I've just had an email from our Spanish Water Dog breeder telling us that the pups have been born!! We can have either a dog or bitch, they're all brown (I wanted a black one!) and available in 8 weeks!
Those of you who are highly experienced dog owners, can you please advise us - we'd like a bitch as we think it will have a good temperament and the chance of having some pups would be great BUT I have only had dogs in the past and so don't have much experience of bitches (apart from my ex-boss)
    All advice gratefully received

    thanks chaps and chapesses

    Lou,

Mine have always been bitches (the dogs not the bosses) so I can't do a comparison, but I've never had a problem with them (as long as you can cope with the twice yearly messy weeks!!!) I've had my current two labs spayed now so it's not a problem.

Not sure it makes much difference as long as they are well educated!!

Make sure you post some piccies when you get them - puppies are soo cute.

had both - as long as you bring them up right - there's no real difference. good news on the pup front lou, we're now in the 'gotta chose between two' stage with ours! Even the breeder is hard pushed to chose!

the first two is the pups - the third is what its gonna grow into (it's the brother of ours sitting with Gareth)

SO, you would like a female because you believe that they have a good temperament. hhhmmmmmm.

they are called Briards - and they're damn cute! the grooming isn't too bad really (besides that's Angie's job) and I can't moan because if it wasn't for her wanting one (our old one died some years ago) i wouldn't have the surf.

here's what they look like from the side - we just got to decide on the fawn or black one now - they're 2 weeks old in pics btw

And Lou, Ang has bred and shown dogs for years - (I was mainly the driver lol although I showed a few times and qualified our dog for Crufts - big head time lol) so if you ever want to have a chat with her feel free

Thanks for all the responses - I think we will have the bitch so suggestions for Spanish sounding names please!
Thankfully like the Briard (our second choice but we don't have the room for one) Spanish Water dogs do not moult and are very skillful agility/search and rescue dogs - here's the link to our breeders site

                www.spanishwaterdogs.com

I plan to do some agility work with her as I am allergic to the gym (mind numbing or what) and need to shift a few pounds/stone/ton(delete as applicable!)
And when those incompetent b*st*rds at fujifilm manage to fix my camera I'll have plenty of pics!
I don't think at the moment we'll be showing but you never know- its not something I even considered - knowing my luck i'll get the mad one of the litter!(fingers crossed)

                Thanks all

                Lou

Puppy pictures as emailed to me by Catherine, the breeder. (I've just spent 20 minutes reading how to attach pics so it better work!!)

Don't know which one is ours yet but its not the black one! They are 3 days old in the picture (they are now 5 days old).

b*gger it, the file is too big - how can i reduce it's size?

What size are the pics that you are trying to post .

Open the pic and click on save as , then save it in another folder at a smaller size .

Or mail them to me and I will post them .
