Is this an alarm? Help!

Hi,

I removed the panel on the right side of the accelerator this morning and found a gadget which I suspect to be an alarm.

I can not lock my car using the remote on the key ... and noticed that the 'alarm' has 'stand by' feature with On and Off position. Currently it is Off. I did not have the courage to switch it on ... fear of the unknown (

Needed to mention that there is a sensor on the dash.

Help somebody ... Is there a risk of immobilising the vehicle permanently?

Does the sensor appear to be wired into this module?

It is about the right size, does it have any model numbers on it? Can you tell us what the logo is on the front?

Its not a thatcham, because they are supposed to be enclosed in a metal case... (in my experience). Could be all sorts of things.

You could always GIMF for the manufacturer and model details and sees what comes up?
