Just ordered a pair of Manik side bars from Specialist Leisure like the attached picture. Should be here in a week, I'll post some pictures when I put them on.
OK they are around 300 notes the pair (just less than) so not cheap, they don't do chrome or Stainless however you can get stainless ones from Specialist Leisure just made by Smittybilt. They are a bit more expensive though.
They aren't designed for high lifts however when they arrive I'm going to see what could be done to fit the stronger. The brackets look quite substantial and the bar itself is very strong, it's just they mount to the same positions on the chassis that the standard side steps mount too. It might be strong enough, I'll certainly be checking that.
Manik have a pretty good reputation and I've heard lots of good things about them.
New sidebars now fitted, took about 15 mins per side. Also refitted my full length roof rack (modified the brackets so that it sits flat - need to compensate for the curve of the roof), polished up the roof rails, fitted the front bull bar back on and a pair of new fog lamps (also finally wired up the indicator light inside), and manufactured a pair of brackets to fit my spotlights on the roof rack (got to fit a switch inside, currently always on with the main beam which I have since found out is OK as there is no legal position requirement for driving/spot lamps).
