timing belt light

well she turned 100.000 today and no timing belt light has come on ? it lights up ok when i switch ignition on . any ideas

Clocked ?????? Some dealers fit the MPH face then turn the mileage back as though it would carry on registering MILES instead of KM

hiya marky . not sure wot ya mean it registers in kms . even if it was turned back when the clock clicked 100.000 surely it would still flick the switch

Some people on here have reported the same 100,000 kms no timing belt warning. Unless someone has reset the little button behind the grommit ??

That is what I was thinking. Belt done and the reset button hit. See what happens at 200K

I am pretty sure that because the timing belt light on the 2.4 is switched on by a cog with 10 teeth that turns over 1 tooth every 10K miles, if the timing belt was replaced say at 60K and the light reset, then the next time it will come on is at 160K.
