  • Changing the head lights

Its come that time when I need to change my head lights (for the first time I must add) I have a 98 2.4 surf and have the Haynes manual. It tells me to remove the front grill to gain aces to the lights that’s no problem, I can strip it all down to remove the light casing apart from 4 clips at the bottom. How the hell do I get my hands in there to undo them????????

All no destructive methods would be appreciated.

    Rich

It’s not the fall that kills you it’s the sudden stop at the bottom!!!

From the front, you can lift the tags with a screwdriver, as you gently pull the grill outwards.

I tired that yesturday, but still no luck, I got all the clips out but it still seems as if there is something holding it in. It looks like I need to take the bumper off. Am I missing a clip?

Need to remove indicators as well, clip along the bottom as well as the top of the grill.

          Head light bulbs

          Hi Rich
Not sure what year your truck is?
On my 91 2nd gen.if you take the indicatiors off as discrbed
you can undo the four small screws that hold the headlight
unit in without taking the grill off.
You need a long possidrive, once the screws are out you can
remove the chrome retainer out from the front and pull the
headlight out just enough loom to unplug the unit.
Refit in reverse way saves a lot of time and skin on the
          knuckles.
          Hope that helps Chris
