  • its been a long time...........

The surf has been off the road for a massive 10 weeks! at a strange workshop in bridgewater!!!! head went on way to devon and has been there ever since. £2500 later and apparently it still isnt fixed! i got the car from a dealer in acton (highly dodgy ive since found out) and its been one expensive problem after another!

ive given up all hope and have bought a new motor (non-surf). anyone near bridgewater who wants my SSR-G, PM me.

2nd time unlucky with an import

Sorry mate , sounds like you've been well & truly done over.

I don't suppose you've got any redress with the seller if he's as dodgy as you say.
The workshop that's doing the repairs don't sound to clever either. That's at least double what it should have cost......& 10 weeks & it's still u/s.
What the hell are they playing at ??
It would have been quicker & cheaper to import another one the way they're going.
Maybe you'll get no-where with the seller...but I'd hassle the repairer to give you an A1 car for the money you've spent.
At least that way , you can recoup some of the money you've spent.
You'll get next to nothing for a non-runner with a dodgy head.
Your best bet is to sell it as a vgc surf thats already had the head done....you've paid for it....don't give in.

Exactly my thoughts, a new head is only £700ish, so wheres the rest of the money going?

This is where £2500 went on mine, from diagnosis to completion was about 4 weeks (negotiations with seller, waiting for parts, crying and stamping feet, etc....) but it hasn't missed a beat since...... apart from the turbo light not working. 10 weeks does seem on the long side of ridiculous though and it's still not running? Name the burk so nobody else makes the mistake of going there!

thought as much! got to admit to being a little nervous first of all but the temprature gauge goes up to just under half way and holds no problem. Now, how do I stop my wife driving it?

put a dead rat in the footwell that will scare her away from it for a while.
