  • Nice car C**p engine

Well its happend 34,000 miles, had the car for 3 months full service coolant changed and the engine blows its self to bits, head gasket, the head, and the block by the looks of it.This happend the same day I lost my job great.Anybody thinking of buying a surf think long and hard.Keep one eye on the road and the other on the temp gauge.

Thats a bummer Spanner , job & the surf ,someones got it in for you !
Are you going to fix it yourself - looks like you might be handy with the tools & at least you,ve got the time to do it (sorry)
If you keep the car at least you can have confidence in it .
Mine cost me a fortune to fix but theres plenty of resouces on here so make use of them.

    Best wishes for the future

How can you come on slagging off Surf engines, then in your next post tell us it has been stored for 5 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, anyone thinking of buying a Surf, yes, think long and hard, and get one with warranty from a reputable dealer, and DONT buy one thats been stood for 5 years.

I'm guessing he's just bit pi$$ed at it at the moment, also that 34,000 is probebly kilometers, just to make it seem worse!

Sounds like a prime example of the original faulty head went south, owner stashed it for 5 years then discovered they could put the crack cure in and flog it to an exporter to get shot of it.

Its worth getting sorted, don't write off a great car over a batch of dodgy parts from the factory that the original owner never bothered to get sorted.

It just hurts to get stung.
